​​A CINEMA OPENING!
Ali Schmahl's feature documentary Privileg, Executive Produced by Gerard Tierney via Projectile, had its German theatrical release on 20th March through dejavu, starting with Krokodil in Berlin and Studio Kino in Hamburg. The film can also be streamed on Amazon Prime Video (US, UK ) and TUBI (US, Mexico, Australia). ​Here are links to the film and to the distributor:

AFTER ALL - PREMIERES AND AWARDS!
After All - Chongyan Liu's short film, the first Octopoid project undertaken by Gerard Tierney - had its World Premiere at Seoul International Pride Film Festival, and played soon after at Beijing International Short Film Festival - where it won 'Best Film' in the Chinese section. The film received its European Premiere at MINT Chinese Film Festival, a fairly new, female-curated event in the UK - where it won 'Best Short Film' in the 'C-Film in Focus' section. It has played online at the US festival ImageOut. On 6th May it played Hanoi International Queer Film Week, and on 11th May it played International Queer & Migrant Film Festival Amsterdam. In late May it plays online at QFest St Louis. The long-awaited French premiere takes place on 5th June in Pantin, near Paris, at the prestigious Côté court festival. (The film also plays there on 7th June and 10th June.) On 6th June, it plays Kashish festival in Mumbai.

​​​PREMIERE AND AWARD
Saigon, Kosovo, one half of Tin Dirdamal's The Thing About A.I. is...pair of short films, had its World Premiere at Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival in October, in the 'Fascinations' section - and won the section's main award. Tin is a previous award-winner at the festival with his feature Dark Light Voyage; Gerard was an Executive Producer on both. Saigon, Kosovo has now been selected for Thessaloniki and for the Ambulante festival in Mexico. Here's a link to the film's programme entry for Ji.hlava:

OTHER NEWS
Chongyan Liu was selected for the 'Doc Station' in the prestigious Berlinale Talents in 2024, and attended with a feature documentary project, Niche of the Dragon. Gerard has been consulting on the project, now renamed The Missing People, and now in active development. This was Chongyan's entry in the Talents catalogue:

​Gerard is Consultant on Philippika, Sabrina Mertens' second feature film, which is her graduation film from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. The film is produced by Lorenzo Gandolfo; post-production is under way. A link to the film school's website:
Gerard is consulting on Chongyan Liu's and Thomas Moore's future work in production and distribution through their operations Another Image and Random Headache, for example on the distribution of Han-Ul Seo's short film After That.
Gerard is consulting with Ernesto Livon-Grosman on a feature-length "found footage” documentary film he is developing (Argentina – USA – Spain). and helping him place his feature music documentary Wolff On Composition. This link here leads to that film's beautiful website:

Deborah Phillips' short film 1014, on which Gerard was Associate Producer, had its world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2024, and was later selected for FICUNAM, Kassel, Bolzano, Prisme (Nantes) and other festivals. Here's a link to the Rotterdam programme:

​Gerard is an Executive Producer on a tetralogy of feature films, Light and the Beginning of Future, directed by Tin Dirdamal: Dark Light Voyage (now taken out of circulation by its maker) and the forthcoming films Beyond Eden, The White of Night and The Last Film.
